Written in 1905, “The Voysey Inheritance” is a play by Harley Granville-Barker (1877 –1946), who was, though not well known in contemporary times, a prominent actor, director, producer-manager, critic, and playwright and extremely influential to modern theater. This is a play about a seemingly respectable Edwardian family whose wealth and complacent comfort are founded upon fraud. Though touching upon serious subjects, such as the meaning of money, the play still has much to enjoy.
